Inside the Screening Room: How Gwamna Cleared APC's Vetting Process

For Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna, that room was the Kaduna State Governor's Lodge on Jose Marti Street in Asokoro, Abuja, where APC's screening committee convened to vet aspirants for the 2027 Gombe governorship ticket.

The exercise was run strictly in line with the APC constitution and the party's internal nomination guidelines, the kind of procedural rigor that protects a party from later disputes over legitimacy.

At the helm was Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, chairman of the screening committee, who personally confirmed that Dr. Gwamna satisfied every constitutional and procedural requirement asked of him.

The outcome was straightforward: official clearance to contest the 2027 governorship election. But the significance runs deeper than a single checkbox; everything that followed rested on this one room having said yes.
